The organising committee follows the pandemic situation closely. Many of us in the SANORD community are now busy working around challenges and solutions for our respective campuses, and for many the work situation has been challenged by the situation.

The 13th SANORD Annual Scientific Conference will take place in Bergen, Norway, in September 2020. The hosts, University of Bergen and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences are already preparing!

The theme of the 2020 SANORD Annual Conference is “Vitalizing partnerships – Moving forward to a sustainable future”. The focus is on designing ways for SANORD partners to utilize and strengthen partnerships as part of meeting the needs of the UN 2030 agenda. The SANORD Conference in Bergen, Norway, will be a meeting place for trans-disciplinary exchange of ideas and research for scholars and institutions in the Nordic and Southern-African regions.

Timeline


  • 1 April 2020: Conference registration opens
  • 20 April 2020: Submission of abstracts closes
  • 1 May 2020: Deadline for registration of Special Interest Groups and Workshops
  • 1 May 2020: Evaluation deadline of the submissions and respons back to authors by The academic committee
  • Primo August 2020: Deadline for conference registration

The SANORD Central Office would like to inform all member institutions, partners and researchers that the submission date for abstracts for the 2022 Southern African-Nordic Centre (SANORD) Annual Scientific Conference at the University of Limpopo has been extended to 21 June 2022.
